How to deal with laptop LCD screen turned white
Posted by: Ecomer In: LCD Screen Repair ()
Generally, there are some cases that the laptop LCD screen become white:
- Video cable and LCD screen loose connection
- The LCD screen itself has defective
- There’s some problems on its motherboard.
As the LCD screen turned white, there is no image on the laptop, showed as the picture.
Please check the video cable connection first. Mostly s the laptop screen may turn white because of poor connection between the video cable and the LCD screen. Reconnecting the video cable may fix your problem. It means that you have to take apart the LCD screen.
If reconnecting the video cable and LCD screen does not work, please make a test with another working LCD screen, identifying what the problem is, on LCD screen or the motherboard. So the laptop screen needs to disconnect the inverter and video cable, and reconnect to another working LCD screen. If it works, the problem is on the LCD screen. If it’s not, the problem relates to motherboard.
If you cannot judge what the problem is for the time being, you can still use an external monitor. Please connect the monitor to the VGA port on the back or side of laptop and then switch the video output from internal to external mode.
Please note that different brand products may have their own key combinations to toggle modes . For example, Toshima laptops: Fn+F5 keys, IBM laptops Fn+F7, HP laptops Fn+F4. On some laptops, you may need to connect it to the laptop and restart the laptop so the external monitor is detected by the laptop, then can be used.
