Dell has taken consumers’ wish lists into consideration to bring its Studio 15 laptop into high-definition for the entertainment crowd. The new system, which starts at just $649, offers 720p, 900p, and 1080p resolutions on its LED-backlit, 16:9 display, optional 256MB or 512MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD4570 graphics, and a 2-megapixel Webcam with dual-array microphones. Dell is also adding a few colors to the already bold line: You can get the Studio 15 in Black, Chainink, Ruby Red, Midnight Blue, Plum Purple, Spring Green, and Promise Pink.

Built-in mobile broadband and Bluetooth are also options, along with the usual connectivity standards (Ethernet and Wi-Fi). You’ll find 5.1-channel audio and a 3-watt subwoofer, dual headphone jacks and an optional Blu-ray drive. They backlit keyboard is also optional, which we think is a little odd. Typically, the keyboard is what it is, backlit or not, but if you don’t think it’s necessary, it might be an opportunity to save some money.Ports include an 8-in-1 card reader, two regular USB ports, one USB/eSATA combo, and HDMI. We’re a little surprised not to see VGA, FireWire, or ExpressCard connections. But overall, these are welcome additions to an already impressive line.

The Studio series is available in the U.S., Canada, and Latin America on Dell.com.
