How to replace laptop LCD screen

Posted by: mandyywl In: LCD Screen Repair ()

Do you know how to replace a LCD screen? Once master it,  you will feel it is very easy. Now, I’d like to share its process:

Step1. Purchase a LCD screen which is compatible with your laptop, shut down the computer, remove the battery and unplug it.

Step2. Use a small flat head or Phillips screw driver to remove the screws that hold the screen. Since every computer model is different, so you will have to search for the screw covers to gain access to the screen.

Step3. After removing all the screws, pull the screen away from the bezel.

Step4. Check the two main wires running from the screen to the laptop: Video cable and power cable. The video cable is usually taped in place. Remove the tape and then disconnect the ribbon from the LCD screen. As to the power cable, if you are just replacing the LCD screen, you will continue to use the inverter, leaving it as it is. However, if you are replacing the inverter as well, disconnect the power cable and unscrew the inverter from its mount.

Step5. Test the screen, just power up your computer. If the screen is working properly, shut down the computer and screw in the screen to the bezel and cover the screws with the plastic or rubber caps.

Have you mastered it, now? If necessary, try it by yourself!

I installed screen…and all seems to be working…except I still have about a 3″ vertical black column on the right side of the LCD display screen? Is this a faulty screen…or is there something I need to do to adjust this?  (Quote)  (Reply)

Suzy,
your laptop does not work with an external monitor, it means that your laptop does not work well, and you have to send it to repair shops. By the way, I don’t know your screen can work well or not.  (Quote)  (Reply)
