HP Mini 311

HP takes the initiative with the first Nvidia’s Ion-based netbook on the market–HP Mini 311. With the HP Mini 311, we can not distinguish clearly between the netbook and notebook.

The HP Mini 311 comes with a 11.6-inch screen with 1,366 x 768 resolution, as well as Nvidia’s Ion graphics chip. The screen has a aspect ratio of 16:9. Its dimension is 11.4 x 8.0 x 1.2 inches. It weighs just 3.2 pounds. The Mini 311 has six-cell battery with the battery life of six hours.

The keys on the keyboard have the same slightly scalloped shape and wide faces, it is in a good seze that we will fell comfortable when typing on the keys. While the 3.3 x 1.5 inches touchpad is a little rough, which makes us a little uncomfortable. Two mouse buttons under the touch pad also feels in low quality and a little stiff.

The HP Mini 311 is equiped with a 1.6-GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU. The Mini 311 also comes with three USB and HDMI port, Ethernet, VGA, headphones, a a 3-in-1 memory card reader, moveover, a 160GB hard drive,1GB of RAM(can be extended to 3GB).

What makes the Mini 311 special is that it runs an Nvidia chipset instead of the Intel chipset found on every other netbook on the market. With t he Nvidia Ion, you can paly HD video files smoothly, you can use the Flash video, play more graphics-intensive games too. While not as powerful as the entry-level Nvidia graphics chips seen on larger systems.

The HP Mini 311 is available with Windows XP, while it will be available with the Windows 7 now. So if you want to buy a netbook, the HP Mini 311 is a netbook while it has beyond the other netbooks.
