When you plug the ethernet into your laptop,while the laptop can not recognize it. Or your laptop registers the ethernet cord and it can connect, but if you move the laptop, the connection is lost. There are the some problems about your laptop network port.

Fisrt of all, it may be the problem of your network cable. Tty to connect your laptop with a new improved work network cable. If it can work well, you network cable is broken and you need to replace it.

Or the pins inside the network port is bent, so it is impossible to connect to the network successfully. What you should do is straightening the bent pin. Of course, you can do it with a thin rigid object.

If your laptop registers the ethernet cord and it can connect sometimes, while if you move the laptop even typing on the keyboard, the connection is lost as soon as possible. In this case, there is no pronlem with your network cable, you may have a broken network port. If you want to fix this problem, there is no doubt that you can replace the broken port with a new one. While most network port is soldered directly to the motherboard.

You can deal with this issue only by buying a USB ethernet adapter instead. it basically enables the use of an ethernet cord through your USB port instead of your ethernet port. For a more elegant solution, get a wireless network card instead of a ethernet to USB adapter. This will fix the problem and add convenience and value to your laptop.

If you plug the ethernet into the back of your laptop, it seems to not recognize it until you shut the laptop off and then turn it back on. Then if you unplug it, it recognizes that you unplugged it but then if you were to go and put it back in later while the laptop is on, the laptop doesnt recognize it. In this case, you should check Quikset’s power options in which there is a setting for turning off the wired LAN card on battery.

You also can reinstall the regular driver which you can download from your laptop brand support website. If can’t, you can do a Windows update to see if any updated drivers for the Ethernet controller.
