The HP Compaq nc6400 lies an Intel Core 2 Duo T5600 processor clocked at 1.83GHz, with a FSB of 667MHz and 2MB of L2 cache, all of which gives a healthy SYSmark score of 200. The nc6400 also comes with a 1GB DDR2 memory module sitting in one of the two SO-DIMM slots. The two slots combined support a maximum of 4GB of memory. The HP Compaq nc6400 includes S-Video out, VGA, and three USB 2.0 ports; headphone and microphone jacks; Type II PC Card, smart card, and flash media card slots. The HP Compaq nc6400 also includes a 56Kbps modem, Ethernet, 802.11a/b/g, and Bluetooth, and an optional integrated WWAN card from Cingular or Verizon.

There is a built-in EV-DO modem, which connects to Verizon Wireless’ BroadbandAccess network. The wireless performance is good, averaging 16.4 Mbps at 5 feet, and 16.7 Mbps at 50 feet from our access point. However, the nc6400 doesn’t provide the HSDPA connectivity.
