How to Add More RAM Memory into Lenovo Ideapad S10

In this guide I explain how to add more RAM memory into a Lenovo Ideapad S10 laptop. Lenovo Ideapad S10 laptop is coming with 512MB soldered onto the motherboard and just one memory slot.

First step, turn off the Lenovo Ideapad S10 laptop, unplug the power adapter and remove the battery to reduce the risk.

Second step, if you search for memory slots on the Lenovo Ideapad S10, you will find that
The memory slots can be accessed through the door on the bottom of the Lenovo Ideapad S10 laptop, so put upward the bottom of the laptop.  You will find there are two crews fixing the panel, so you have to remove the fixed panel screws.

Third step,  And now, what you should do is lift up the hatch carefully with your fingers as it shown on the picture below and until it’s completely separated from the Lenovo S10 laptop.

Fourth step: you will find there is a hard drive on the left of the Lenovo Ideapad S10 laptop, and the memory slot is on the right side of the Lenovo S10 laptop. In order to remove it, pull out the retaining clips, the memory module will pop up at a 30 degree angle.

Fifth step, now you can pull the old memory module form the slot.

And what I want to remind you is that if your Lenovo S10 laptop comes with 512 RAM, so there is no memory module in the memory slot, so you don’t need to remove the old memory module.

Sixth step, now replace the old memory module with a new larger one. According to specifications a Lenovo Ideapad S10 laptop will take up to 2GB RAM total. So the part of more than 2GB will be ignored.

Seventh step,  you remove the original memory module and replace it with a larger one. In this step, you should make sure connectors are facing the slot and the indentation is closest to the front of the system.

Eighth step, insert the memory module into the memory slot as how you pull out the old memory module.

Ninth step, put the retaining clips back to its original place, and close the panel to the laptop.

Finally, turn on the Lenovo S10 laptop; it will be detected by the BIOS automatically.
