Dell Inspiron 15R N5010 Review-1
Dell Inspiron series has always been famous for their fashion design and a variety of optional dazzling colors shells. Dell Inspiron series win a large number of young consumer groups.

Dell Inspiron 15R N5010 we got is with red cover with imprint technology, it emphasizes on the metallic sense of the notebook. A familiar “DELL” logo in the middle of the shell makes the notebook more fashionable.

Dell Inspiron 15R N5010’s shell is used popular free snap-fit design, the damping of the screen hinge is moderate, the shell of Inspiron 15R will be opened easily.

Dell Inspiron 15R N5010

From the side view, the 15R (N5010) seems thick and heavy, and Inspiron 15R’s shell is with pre-drift design, so it is novel, avant-garde; the maximum opening and closing angle of Inspiron 15R is 134 °.

Dell Inspiron 15R N5010 comes with a 15.6-inch wide-screen with 16:9 ratio at the resolution of 1366 × 768 pixels. Inspiron 15R N5010 has good specular reflection effect, and has a good visual experience in actual use.

Dell Inspiron 15R N5010 Review-7

There is no doubt that Inspiron 15R N5010 comes with a camera on the top of the screen. The design of the keyboard also has a fine metallic sense. Overall, C-face design is of simplicity; there is nothing just three status indicators and a power button on the keyboard bracket.

The keyboard design of Dell laptops is different to other products to some extent, F1-F12 keys should work with the Fn key to achieve the corresponding functions, while other laptop’s F1-F12 keys can work independently. However, the shortcut keys on Inspiron 15R N5010 can be restored to normal usage by setting BIOS.

Inspiron 15R N5010 palmrest and two touchpad buttons are all with metal wiredrawing processing, and the touchpad is also with matte effect.

From the screen and the keyboard design we can know that Inspiron 15R N5010 is to highlight the “fashion”, nor matter its glossy screen or brushed surface C, and or distinctive keyboard design, they are all very good to create an overall sense of fashion.

Inspiron 15R N5010 provides users with complete interfaces, and use of the advantages of large-size molds, the overall layout of the interfaces is more reasonable.
Dell Inspiron 15R N5010 Review-15
On the left side of Dell Inspiron 15R N5010, there is USB 2.0 port, heat vents, headphone /microphone jack and an HDMI high-definition interface from left to right.

On the right side of Dell Inspiron 15R N5010, there is a card reader slot, DVD burner, a USB / eSATA mixed interface, RJ-45 and security keyhole.
Dell Inspiron 15R N5010 Review-17
On the rear side of Dell Inspiron 15R N5010, there is a USB 2.0 port, VGA port and power jack.

As a 15-inch large-screen laptop, portability is clearly not the advantage of this product, but the actual weight of the laptop with battery is 2.63kg, which is not heavy for a 15-inch model.

Hi Dr. Vijay, the laptop we got is with Intel Core i3 330 with 2.13GHz and also 3 GB of RAM.
And 64-bit is going mainstream. If you have an Intel Core 2 Duo or newer processor, you’ve got a 64-bit CPU, and you should install the 64-bit version of Windows 7 to play with. (Here’s how. You’ve got like 5 days left, BTW.) Microsoft itself is pimping 64-bit over 32-bit now and notebook makers have already started pushing 64-bit Windows Vista over 32-bit. Mac OS 10.6 Snow Leopard will be 64-bit down to its kernel, so you won’t be alone by any means.
And I don’t the address too.  (Quote)  (Reply)

Hi bharath,
First of all, you have to check whether your screen is good or not with an external screen which is good. If your external screen can work well, the problem is that your original screen is bad, and replaces it. If both screens can not work well, you will have to reinstall the Windows XP OS, if the OS can be compatible with your laptop, the problem may be related to graphics or screen cable. If the OS can not be compatible with your laptop, it may be the patch problems.  (Quote)  (Reply)

Hi tanvir,
You may have to test it with an external screen, it the external screen works well. You can enter the BIOS, and then see if the red shadow is on the same place, if there is really a red shadow there, it may be the problem of screen. And if the BIOS are normally, it may be the problem of driver.  (Quote)  (Reply)

Hello Chathuranga and all,

I also encountered with a small difficulty when installind drivers for the WLAN drivers for my N5010. You can easlily do this by installing drivers manually. Just download driver package named as “R252544.exe” [Dell Wireless WLAN 1520 Half MiniCard] and extract it. Then go to the device manager and select manual driver installation and browse to the folder called “DRIVER_US”. Then you will be able to install the driver within few seconds.  (Quote)  (Reply)

My NEW dell inspiron N5010 laptop was delivered 7/28/2010 (2 days after my birthday) and I had to call Dell the same day because the “hard drive” needed to be replaced (doesn’t say very much for the product). The technician replaced the hard drive and left me to do the rest. I’m 61- and have very little computer experience and no written instructions and unabe to see a manual. This is the 3rd Dell computer (1st laptop) I’ve purchased from Dell and it will be my last-3 strikes is definately an OUT and it is impossible to retrieve the USER MANUAL for this model on Dell’s support.dell.com/manual. If I don’t find out how to use it, I will be returning it. This was my birthday present to myself. Happy birthday to me from Dell.  (Quote)  (Reply)

Hi,

For everyone with 32-bit issue. just try these 2 options. Both work so choice is yours.

1) you get only 64 bit drivers on dell website so dont waste time searching. JUST INSTALL VISTA 32 BIT DRIVERS esp for VGA. it works on win7. ur screen wont be blurry.

2) if u have internet access then go to device manager. open vga or WLAN properties. update the driver from internet. it will take 5-10 minutes but it works.

Best of luk!  (Quote)  (Reply)

hello friends, i dont have this laptop, but for any drivers u getting difficulty try this. windows 7. control panel, system security. security, windows update, turn on automatic update, check for updates, then optional updates. you will get many drivers needed , you choose yours. instal, reboot, then turn off automatic updates.

this is how i do in all pcs i load win 7. sometimes you get all you need
. i learned this from friends through google  (Quote)  (Reply)

Dr. Vijay,

you still cannot find all of the Windows 7 drivers for your unit, most of the existing Windows Vista drivers should work. Return to Dell’s Drivers and Downloads page, and download the Windows Vista drivers for your system. Hard drives are advertised in Gigabytes being 10^9 butes. But operating systems measure Gigabytes using 2^30 bytes. So 1GB in hard drive advertised size is 1,000,000,000 bytes. 1MB is 1,024*1,024 bytes. So 1GB = 953MB. 1MB in hard drive advertised size is 1,000,000 bytes. 1KB is 1,024 bytes. So 1MB is 976KB. Now, if we’re not taking hard drive advertised sizes and we’re talking the sizes reported by your operating system, then 1GB is 1,024MB. 1MB is 1,024KB. And 1 KB is 1,024 bytes.
Or, there is a Hidden partition that is a logical section of a disk which is not accessible to the operating system. Despite this fact a hidden partition may contain files and folders like a normal one. It may be used to protect confidential data or store backup of the system.  (Quote)  (Reply)
