Acer Aspire 4820TG, as the second generation of Aspire T series, has transited to Intel Capella in hardware and adopted standard CPU instead of ULV processor which results in excellent performance and acceptable price. Since there is no ULV processor, we may worry about whether Acer Aspire 4820TG could inherit Aspire T series’ long battery life. Now we are about to disassemble Aspire 4820TG and have a test on it.

Disassembly

First of all, we remove the battery and D cover from Acer 4820TG. In order to take down the drive, we are ready to dismantle the screws from drive.

Then we continue to dismantle the wireless network card, hard drive and memory. When all the screws are removed, Acer 4820TG D side disassembly has finished.

We turn to C side of Acer 4820TG. There is a row of hidden buckles stuck on the C side cover. So we can pry the keyboard through those hidden buckles.

At the same time, don’t forget to disconnect the flat cable as it is also connected to the mainboard.

When we take down the keyboard, we find that Acer 4820TG floating keyboard provides with either too good or too bad handfeel.

Having removed the keyboard, we have to disassemble the remaining exposed screws from C side.

And then we begin to dismantle Acer 4820TG mainboard by unscrewing the three screws and take down the mainboard.

Battery Life Test

We test Acer Aspire 4820TG battery life by MobileMark 2007. In accordance with the recommendations of MobileMark, we closed the wireless card and Bluetooth. Uninstall the antivirus software, with Acer power management software only. At last, we got the result of nearly 7 hours.
