Acer has unveiled the 3D-powered Aspire Z5763 all-in-one desktop, and it’s not often that the maker boasts that the computer will “open the doors” to plain old “fun.”

This ridiculously named device has a 2-megapixel Webcam. Sure, there’s some 3D power on this PC, but the real unique feature here is Acer’s own AirControl, a software program that works with the integrated cameras to detect hand gestures and motions. But aside from that, Acer Aspire One 522 netbook also comes with a glossy 10.1-inch display capable of 720p HD video, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, a webcam, 500GB hard drive and 2GB of RAM. This device supported by Radeon 6250 graphics that capable of supporting Direct X11 games and UVD video decoding. As for the interface design, Acer Aspire One 522 netbook has three USB ports, VGA-out, Ethernet and etc. With a price tag of $425, Aspire One 522 may be a good choice for you.

AO533 comes standard with an 11.1V, 63Wh lithium battery. We used MobileMark 2007 to test its battery life. It has three test modes: Productivity module, DVD module, Reader module, respectively, is called Adobe AcrobatReader 7.0, Adobe Illustrator CS2, Adobe Photoshop CS2, Apple Quicktime 7.1, Intervideo WinDVD 8, Macromedia Flash 8, Microsoft Office 2003 Pro, Microsoft Project 2003, Winzip 10.0. In this notebook, we run the Reader module to simulate the battery life.

In the test, we closed the screen saver, hibernation, system restore, automatic updates, firewall and other functions; the screen brightness set to 50%, and test the laptop until its battery is 0%. This product’s Reader module test results is 671 minutes, taking into account Acer Aspire One 533 is equipped with a larger battery, so this performance is quite good enough to satisfy those has stringent requirements on the battery life.

Acer Aspire 4820TG, as the second generation of Aspire T series, has transited to Intel Capella in hardware and adopted standard CPU instead of ULV processor which results in excellent performance and acceptable price. Since there is no ULV processor, we may worry about whether Acer Aspire 4820TG could inherit Aspire T series’ long battery life. Now we are about to disassemble Aspire 4820TG and have a test on it.

Disassembly

First of all, we remove the battery and D cover from Acer 4820TG. In order to take down the drive, we are ready to dismantle the screws from drive.

Then we continue to dismantle the wireless network card, hard drive and memory. When all the screws are removed, Acer 4820TG D side disassembly has finished.

We turn to C side of Acer 4820TG. There is a row of hidden buckles stuck on the C side cover. So we can pry the keyboard through those hidden buckles.

At the same time, don’t forget to disconnect the flat cable as it is also connected to the mainboard.

When we take down the keyboard, we find that Acer 4820TG floating keyboard provides with either too good or too bad handfeel.

Having removed the keyboard, we have to disassemble the remaining exposed screws from C side.

And then we begin to dismantle Acer 4820TG mainboard by unscrewing the three screws and take down the mainboard.

Battery Life Test

We test Acer Aspire 4820TG battery life by MobileMark 2007. In accordance with the recommendations of MobileMark, we closed the wireless card and Bluetooth. Uninstall the antivirus software, with Acer power management software only. At last, we got the result of nearly 7 hours.
